From Valfabbrica to Assisi: 25 minutes.

Assisi already from afar looks like a variety of houses, churches and bell still surrounded by medieval walls on which dominates the Rocca Maggiore, an ancient fortress that still seems to want to protect the city.

Place of worship and pilgrimage dominated by figures of
San Francesco and Santa Chiara, is an important artistic and cultural hub.

The Basilica Lower and Upper are an artistic heritage worldwide with frescoes by Giotto inside dedicated to the patron saint of Italy and the Basilica of St. Clare is an example of Italian Gothic architecture.

Certainly to visit are then The Church of St. Peter, the Eremo delle Carceri, surrounded by a unique landscape where there is also the grotto of St. Francis and The Sanctuary of San Damiano where the saint compose “The Canticle of the Creatures.”
